My boat is based outside of the UK. Can I still insure it with RJP?
We generally only insure craft based in the UK (inc. N Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands) with 30 days holiday use in Europe but we may be able to consider other locations , ask us.

How long will it take to insure my craft?
We request a small amount of information about you and your boat and will then provide you with a quotation which makes several assumptions. The completion of our form will take only a couple of minutes and we’ll endeavour to get straight back to you , certainly always within 2 working days. If the quote is of interest we will then go through the cover in more detail with you before arranging the cover. This latter part may take up to 10 minutes.

My current insurance doesn’t expire until next month. Can I still buy insurance now?
Yes! Simply let us know your renewal date and we will quote from that date. Ideally up to 30 days before is best as things can change if quotes are done any earlier. Please note that should anything change in the intervening time, e.g., accidents occur, locations addresses change etc. then you must let us know before the cover is put in place.

SECURITY Will my credit/debit card details be secure?
Our credit/debit card payment facility uses the SEcPay payment system.
SECPay provides all the security required for the transmission and storage of card details using SSL, encryption minimum 40 bit and firewalls.

Can I insure more than one craft?
Yes , but we will need to effect two separate policies and of course need the details for both/all craft and engines.

If I cancel my policy will I get a refund of premium?
Yes. A proportionate amount will be charged by the Insurer for the time on cover plus £30. In addition an administration fee may be applied by RJP Marine as set out in the Terms of Business. The balance of the premium paid will be refunded to you

How can I pay my premium?
You may choose to pay by cheque in full, the cheque must reach us within 7 days of cover being effected, by Finance Agreement over 8 monthly instalments by Premium Credit Finance through your bank or by Credit or Debit card. Premium Credit Limited are the finance providers for the monthly instalment arrangement and they will apply a charge of 7.5% (28.6%APR) to your premium. No deposit is required. The arrangement is regulated under the consumer credit act of 1974.


Yamaha marine Cover Insurance is the name of an insurance product available exclusively through R J P Marine which is underwritten by Haven Knox Johnston and designed for the owners of boats powered by Yamaha Motor UK Ltd outboard engines.

R J P Marine Insurance Services is a Trading Name of Johnstone Insurance Brokers Ltd. (Company Registration number 05683941) Johnstone Insurance Brokers Ltd are Insurance Brokers dealing with all forms of General Insurance. R J P Marine specifically deals with Personal Watercraft, Jet-ski and Pleasure Craft Insurance.
